How Facebook Helped A Man Piece His Life Back Together

In 2010, New Delhi, India-based Mayank Sharma contracted tubercular meningitis, a serious inflammation of the central nervous system.

After a week in the hospital, he emerged without any memory of ever getting sick, and of 27 years of his life.

When he got well enough to use a computer, he started browsing through his history list—where he stumbled on Facebook.

Thanks to Facebook’s ‘People You May Know’ feature, he started messaging people he may have known and pieced his life back together.

The video of Sharma was created as part of Facebook’s Facebook Stories, a site dedicated to sharing extraordinary, quirky and thought-provoking stories and ideas from people all over the world.
