‘Angry Birds’ USB-Connected Controller Adds Physical Element To The Game

Mobile game Angry Birds launched its web browser version only a few months ago.

However, compared to its mobile platform, its not been as successful—could it be the lack of intuitive tactile interaction?

To solve this issue, Denmark-based students Hideaki Matsui andAndrew Spitz created a USB controller that lets you play the game on your computer more easily.

Called ‘Super Angry Birds’, the device has a slingshot for you to shoot the birds—which makes it easier to angle the shot, aim, and control the pull—and a trigger to activate special powers of the bird after its been shot.

The duo used a motorized slider, customized Arduino microcontroller, and some programming to build the control.
